Instances
By default, the local print and file service will handle all requests using a single process. Having only one instance of the job handling running ensures that all jobs are processed in the same sequence as they were created in the queue.
If you have large print jobs, they can potentially block the printing while they are being printed. Sometimes, running multiple instances of the service can improve the response time when something is printed.
More instances will increase communication with the Business Central tenant, so we recommend that you only add instances if you have problems with slow printing.
Configuration file
The number of instances is changed in the service configuration file. You can read more about the instance count parameter under service scaling.
